Made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2017 for his work in the space, Paul Wheelton knows what philanthropists look for when they’re funding a project. We asked him what makes a not for profits stand out from the crowd and grab his attention. For the last 30 years, he’s been the Managing Director and owner of one of the biggest Budget Rent a Car Franchise Group in Australia. 15 years ago, knowing he had built a strong, dependable management team, he moved into the charitable sector where he now spends the majority of his time. Paul is passionate about correcting the gender imbalance that exists in many of the areas he works – he is the first male member of the Women Moving Millions organisation, and a member of the United Nations ‘He for She’ campaign.
